Whats up with the seatbelt law.
I heard on the radio the other day. Automatic $50 fine and 2 points on your license and they can now pull you just for that.

Im slack about it, I know it's for my own good, but now I'll wear it religiously.

1. I thought it was still a secondary offense.
I take kind of a libertarian stance on this issue: if you want to smear yourself all over the road, that's your business. I definitely think it should be required for anyone under 18, but after that, it just seems kind of nanny-stateish.

2. A seatbelt saved my life
in a seven car pileup on the interstate. My head would have smashed through the windshield without it.

The problem with that scenario is that it's not instant death, it's decades of total disability, life in a nursing home, needing other people to feed you, bathe you, wipe your butt, and do everything else for you, all while you suffer in pain you can't complain about.

And that is why seatbelt laws are a good thing.

3. True.
I'm not 100% either way on the matter. I wear my seatbelt all the time anyway, so I could really care less if they pass a law about it or not.
