“Getting Better” ??? Crack heads
Income of approx 125 million from Pitman Roberts exicise tax, license sales, permits, fees
Then Perry bond 69 million for repairs
and another 44 million capital repairs
another 25 million USS TEX and Galveston

Perry/Cronhole budgets 25 -30 Million to TPW to operate on

So State coffer get
125 million
69 million bond
44 Mill bond
25 Mill bond
= 263 million $ and bonds

while TPWD operates on budget of $25 million

Where the money??
263-25 =238 million disappeared?? :woohoo: :spray:
Maybe we have a shell game winner.

5. Texas State Parks Took Great Strides Toward “Getting Better”
More than $69 million in general obligation bonds were sold to fund more than $69 million in repairs and renovations to state park infrastructure that commenced in the spring. TPWD began spending the bulk of the voter-approved Proposition 4 bond monies ($44 million) for capital repair projects at more than 40 parks. The Legislature also approved the sale of $25 million to dry berth the Battleship Texas, a portion of which went to hiring an architectural-engineering firm in October to begin planning work on the project. MESA Design Group of Dallas was hired to lead a master planning and design team to guide redevelopment of hurricane-ravaged Galveston Island State Park, and public meetings held to receive public input. TPWD conducted legislative briefing tours during the fall at Bastrop State Park and three four state parks to showcase improvements taking to upgrade bathrooms, campsites, cabins, water and wastewater facilities, and make more facilities compliant with the American Disabilities Act.

3. Wading through reform
A two-year budget shortfall preliminarily estimated at a staggering $20 billion or more promises to dominate the Texas Legislature’s 82nd regular session, which in less than two weeks begins its biennial 140-day marathon.

But it's also certain the Legislature will find time between the opening gavel on Jan. 11 and sine die May 30 to introduce, discuss and, in some cases, pass legislation, involving outdoor recreation and natural resources.

Given the over-arching precedence of the state' budget situation and a Texas House and Senate membership that saw significant shuffling in the November elections, this legislative session may not see as many outdoors-related bills as in past years.

But it's certain dozens of the 7,000 or more pieces of legislation expected to be filed over the coming weeks will potentially impact anglers, hunters, boaters, campers and more.

Based on pre-filed legislation and insight from a variety of sources, here's an early look at some of the outdoors-related issues certain or very likely to surface in Austin over the coming four months.

4. Goodbye Galveston Island State Park
Where are the big private investors who line up to get public contracts? I guess since their boy slick rick already won, they don't have to pay anything for another 4 years. :grr:
