Has anyone heard this? Electronic voting defaults to * ?

A friend of mine said someone told him that the electronic voting that they're using in some places (looks like a small tablet PC) will enter a default vote for Bush if you don't select anyone for President. Not that he needs any help here, but has anyone else heard this?

1. no but its been reported that if you pick a straight dem ticket

it can select bush. so be careful.

about e-voting machines that entered the wrong specific votes when one entered a straight-ticket vote. That's why I like paper ballots, as I voted with. Of course, I'm assuming that the readers of such ballots are correctly set -- but at least there's a paper trail.
