Musician-turned-humorist Kinky Friedman today brought his traveling road show to Plano as he embarks on an odds-stacked-against-him run for governor as a Democrat.

Speaking during a fundraiser before a backdrop of luxury at Gleneagles Country Club, Plano’s toniest golf course, Friedman said he would seek to agitate a political status quo that he thinks has become stale.

“I’m not afraid to stir things up,” he said.

By some wild stretch of the alternate universe scenario, lets say Kinky were to win the Democratic primary (yes he is running as a Democrat and no he isn't one - just playing one on TV). Whoever survives the R primary (Goodhair or KBH "Purse Boys") would have a walk in the park in the November general.

That hurts the Democrats. 1) Because our nominee would an ass-clown and makes us all look bad 2) Because a lot of Ds might stay home in Nov and that hurts all of our down ballot races.

We need Democrats to come out and vote in November. We need to take back the Texas House so that we have some say in the redistricting process.

So no we do not want Kinky to win the primary.

Just say no to a Kinky primary.
