What can I do to get people to support Kerry here in Texas? I am
talking about the people who want, need, and crave a change of regime in Washington and support Kerry, but feel that because of the electoral college they are wasting their time and vote.

1. Tell them to find 10 more who want Bush out. And those 10 are to
find 10 more each, etc. Also utilize the internet to campaign for change in the White House. Wear t-shirts and put bumper stickers on your car. Above all do not be shy. Make it the fashionable act to vote against Stump.

2. Let the campaign know you're out there
At our meetup last week one of the things we talked about was sending teams out of time to build support for Kerry and to bring supporters out of the woodwork.

Here is Austin there is a grassroots group not affiliated with the national campaign. We refuse to let them write Texas off. If enough people vote for Kerry, we can win. So get in touch.

Register people to vote. And on November 2, make sure they do vote.

Kerry to come on May 11 to speak. We are always trying to register people. It is an on going thing. What are some good anwsers to the "my vote won't count anyway because of the electoral college". You are never going to convince these people that baby bush won't win Texas. I just want to convince them to vote anyway. I am happy that the Kerry campaign is not writing off Texas the way the Gore people did.

5. Tell them that even though Texas going Bush is about a foregone conclusion
we can still add to Kerry's popular vote.In 2000 the repubs were planning to protest the election if Bush had won the popular vote but Gore won the Electoral. They would probably have gotten it before the SCOTUS and I'm sure they would have found a way to give it to Smirk,Constitution be damned.
We're going to win both counts,as we did in 2000.Then,a few GOP party hacks intimidated some election judges in Florida to suspend their count. This time, they try that crap and they'll have to intimidate tens of thousands of OUR protesters, wherever they try their corrupt shenanigans.
I think Texas will be much closer than many expect.
