Town Halls in CD-22, FYI
http://olson.house.gov/index.html

Amazingly enough, he's got something in his position statement I agree with:

I support a resolution that will offer members of Congress an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is, and urge my colleagues who vote for legislation creating a government-run health care plan to lead by example and enroll themselves in the same public plan.

Works for me, except I don't think it should be an option!

3. Doesn't he look like an idiot?
I think it's accurate - to give an example, he sent my husband and me quite a bit of campaign material when any fool can easily find out we'd *never* vote Republican. Only in DeLay land....

2. Doggett said he was willing to do that
And I believe him.

But how about supporting a resolution that members that vote against health care for all, like Olsen will, to be required to getting their primary health care at emergency rooms. Because obviously he insists that our health care system is working just fine. So put your money where your mouth is Pete and show us.

:P

4. sorta good idea
but that's wasteful. I think a vote against single payer should mean giving up taxpayer expense healthcare - which at least 1 rep says he did years ago. Then go to the doc's office if you prefer, and pay cash out of your paltry taxpayer expense salary. Hope you don't want labs with that.

5. Good idea
You know the medical industry better so that's a real good idea. Expense care for their whole family. Let's see how far that goes.

I know that emergency care is extremely inefficient. What I wanted to convey is the "horror stories" they try to scare the American public with by saying that the waiting lines and the care being "rationed" in Canada and the UK. Well American public those horror stories happen right here in the U.S. everyday at every emergency room. That's our system right now for a lot of people in America who are uninsured.

6. Public plan should be for ALL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES
Being a federal employee I would jump at the idea of screwing Blue Cross Blue Shield. The same health care benefit Olson gets.

I think that is why Olson is not coming to Clear Lake because of the high number of federal employees sucking on the tit of government provided health care.
