Barbara Boxer: Rick Noriega wins 'Choose A Challenger' contest
Barbara Boxer: Rick Noriega wins 'Choose A Challenger' contest

E-mail just received...

Dear xxxx,

What an incredible race! In just one week, over 25,000 PAC for a Change community members voted in our "Choose a Challenger" contest. I'm pleased to announce that Rick Noriega, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Texas, won the contest with 30% of the vote -- narrowly edging out Al Franken, who finished second with 24%.

Today, we're rushing a $2,500 check from PAC for a Change to Rick Noriega's campaign before the June 30th quarterly reporting deadline. And, in the coming days, we'll be sending a fundraising email to the entire PAC for a Change community on Rick's behalf, giving his campaign a boost of financial support as he takes on incumbent Republican Senator John Cornyn this fall.

In the meantime, if you'd like to learn more about Rick Noriega and his campaign for change in Texas, I invite you to visit his campaign website at www.RickNoriega.com .

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our PAC for a Change "Choose a Challenger" online vote. Together, we can give President Obama a strong Democratic majority in 2009 and bring the change our country so desperately needs.

In Friendship,

Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator

P.S. Check out the campaign video that's turned Rick Noriega's Republican opponent, Senator John Cornyn, into a national laughingstock: Click here to watch "Big Bad John" -- a video clip that Senator Cornyn is actually using to promote himself in Texas. It's not often that I'll ask you to watch a Republican ad -- but in this case, I just had to make an exception.

5. Posing on a horse in downtown Houston.
Between the opera house and an office building (Lyric Center).

He used to be a civil district judge in Houston and later, said that there is a connection between "activist judges" (the ones that make rulings he disagrees with) and violence against judges. He should know better but he doesn't.
