He was a great speaker. He came across as sincere, well educated, caring and willing to put his life on hold so that he can take on Tom DeLay. In other words a man of values, to pass on to his kids and to represent his District 100% better than Tom DeLay.
He told us his poll numbers are not impossible to overcome. He's down 9-10 points, but DeLay is below 50% and that always means trouble for an incumbent. He needs money and he needs volunteers. He's doing a decent job at raising money, but we need to push it some more.
This is ground zero folks. If there is anything we can commit ourselves to is to take down Tom DeLay. Richard Morrison would do his district and this state proud.
One more thing is that he thanked Howard Dean for making him one of his Dean Dozens which gave him a fighting chance to get his message out.
Some of us in Austin will be caravaning to Dist 22 over the weekend of Sept. 18th and 19th I believe to help block walk etc.
