20. DINO Martinez goes down!
:woohoo:

Those anti-abortion ads run by his supporters had a negative effect on three people I talked to. They were considering a vote for Martinez, until those ads were run. heh.

9. This is how Travis voted for BAR - 92%

RACE NAME EARLY VOTES PERCENT TOTAL VOTES PERCENT
U. S. Senator
Gene Kelly 295 8.98% 640 7.84%
Barbara Ann Radnofsky 2,989 91.01% 7,520 92.15%
----------- -----------
Total Votes Cast 3,284 8,160
Early Provisional Ballots Reported 1
Total Provisional Ballots Reported 8
Precincts Reported 217 of 217 Precincts 100.00%
* County Turnout 1.49% 544,483 Registered Voters

Now the pathetic part is the 1.5% of registered voters who voted. Of course there were about 9,937 republican votes in the repub primary and they should be counted. They actually beat us in voter turnout. How shameful.

10. update on Alvarado...
according to Harris County Election Night Results:

link: http://www.election.co.harris.tx.us/Dem/dem_results_for_20060411.htm

Dem - Lieutenant Governor

Alvarado 43.79%
Grant 56.21%
86.63% of precincts reporting.

However, when you go to Channel 2, click2houston.com website, they have called the election for Alvarado 56% to Grant 44%, 73% of precincts reporting. Channel 11 website has done the same thing. I don't know if they will be revising this, when they see what Harris County itself has reported. I personally e-mailed them about this inaccuracy.

11. You are comparing two different things, I think
Maybe the first percentages are just Harris County results?

The other percentages are statewide are are called accurately for Alvarado.

13. She won the state
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 10:39 PM by sonias
This really gets interesting now. She is the highest office state Latina candidate on the ballot. Can we kick up the Latino vote this year? I hope so.

16. Wow. Alvarado won!
Good for her. I am kind of excited about her. A lot of old time Dems told me to vote for Grant because of his experience but I confess I voted for her because of her enthusiasm and I thought she had a great website. Hopefully she will help us stir up some excitement at the top of the ticket.

19. I voted for her because one of our party guys
wrinkled his nose up when he said her name. Of course that was after he said that gays didn't need to be in prominent places in the party.
So when he recommended voting for Ben--I knew immediately that I should vote for someone else.:)
