Seymore Hersh at the Progressive Forum Houston tonight
Anyone else going besides me and WHD?

http://www.progressiveforumhouston.org/

Seymour Hersh, who broke the story of U.S. prisoner abuse at Abu Ghraib, will reveal his perspective on how we got from the morning of 9/11 to a divisive war of choice in Iraq. One of the most acclaimed investigative reporters of our time, Seymour Hersh won the Pulitzer Prize for breaking the story of the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War. A writer for The New Yorker, Mr. Hersh has won over a dozen prizes for stories such as Nixon’s secret bombings in Cambodia, Kissinger’s wiretapping of newsmen, and the growth of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal. His tales reveal what happens when governments operate unhindered by constitutional checks and balances. He’s published eight books including The Dark Side of Camelot and The Price of Power: Kissinger in the Nixon White House.

2. Please take good notes on his talk and let us know what all he says...
I took a look at the website, and saw the prices for these events. Yikes. I'm just not able to afford to go to them. I wish they would make it more accessible for more people....

3. They have archived audio from the previous events.
If you scroll down a bit and look to the right, there are links to the audio.

I don't know how much it costs to pull off evnts like this, but to book top tier speakers, I'm sure it ain't cheap. I figure it's about the same as most concert tickets nowadays, and I want to support the program, because it's about time Houston had something like this!:-)

4. I agree that events like this one, and the others they have listed,

cost mucho denero. And they pick nice places to have it at. But maybe more people would come, if the prices were more accessible? I don't know. But with ticket prices at $34 or $54 per person, and then you add in parking at $5, that's one expensive evening for me. Unfortunately, its out of my range right now. Maybe when I hit the jackpot, I can start attending.

I appreciate your letting me know about the archived events. I will be sure and listen to them, and I'll vicariously enjoy the event that way! Thanks!

ps. I do heartily applaud the consistent high quality speakers this group is able to attract-
