Thought you Texans might enjoy this LTTE in Seattle Times
The bicycle, chief

I'd just like to express my gratitude to a fellow American from the great state of Texas who has earned international admiration and respect for his achievements and for his representation of a positive image of the United States.

Sit down, Dubya. I'm talking about Lance Armstrong.

(Seems like someone could even improve on this a bit...)

3. I have a bet with Mrs. ZBDent - $20 bucks says that, if he goes into
politics like a recent news story hinted at (and he didn't rule out), he'll go in as a Repuke . . . no surprise - Texan, left his wife and infant twins for a trophy girlfriend, is a "celebrity" . . .

4. You are going to lose that bet zbdent
Lance is not a repuke. First of all he is an atheist, and that my friend would not be welcomed in the repuke party. Lance is not going to "find religion" so that he can win an election. He plays his whole life on his terms.

5. Riiiiiiighhtttttt . . .
First thing, I'm going by the fact that my brother was willing to jeopardize family relations just to egg me on about how much "George W. Bush" was the saving grace of this country.

Then my brother mentions how wonderful the book BY mr. Armstrong was. If it was by a "liberal", he wouldn't have picked it up.

Now, when has hypocrisy stopped anyone from being a Repuke? It actually seems like it's mandatory.

Vietnam skippers trashing a decorated Vietnam vet.

Iraq gung-ho war supporters telling reporters that they didn't sign up because they "do shit".

Repukes attack an Iraqi war veteran for not being patriotic enough. His crime? Running for office as a Dem.

Terry Anderson, a hostage in the original Iran crisis - attacked for being "soft" on terrorism.

Santorum's staffer and a White House fellater (both homosexuals) being welcomed by the Repukes.

Some bitch takes it in the ass for a married Repuke (for money, no less) - and she gets a slap on the wrist . . .

So why would an Atheist be turned down? He's a well-known Texan - presumably rich, now.
