Henry Cuellar is a big crybaby

http://dos-centavos.blogspot.com/
So much for "policy, not politics"
Freshman Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo) cast the first complaint in his re-election campaign as he is already beginning to rack up cash at fundraisers around Texas. According to www.mysa.com, Cuellar accused potential opponent State Rep. Richard Raymond of illegal campaign practices, saying that Raymond is not allowed to campaign and raise money during the legislative session.

www.CampaignsForPeople.com states that Raymond is doing nothing wrong as federal law allows a state elected official to campaign for federal office by way of an "exploratory committee." Simply put, Cuellar is whining about his opponents, particularly Raymond, gaining free press time to attack his positions while forcing him to campaign and raise money.

Boy oh boy, Richard Ramond in Washington, that would be a dream come true. Go Richard Go!!!

1. cuellar's been attacking raymond
since around the time of the election. i've counted about 3 anti-raymond LTTE's in the local rag, one complaining about raymond going to florida to campaign for kerry when he didn't campaign for cuellar.

i can't tell you how much i hate the cuellar people. they are extremely pushy, arrogant, & rude. i've had them force campaign stuff in my hands at rallies & when they've come to my door, demand to know who i voted for when i tell them "sorry i've already voted." otoh, richard raymond has been nothing but polite & gracious each time i run into him. whenever i've run into raymond people, they've also been nothing but polite & gracious.

cuellar is a dino, imoh. raymond is the real deal.

2. I have so much respect for Richard Raymond
The first time I met him was during the redistricting hearings when he was our lone defender on that committee. Kino Flores was absent with conflicting meetings and Vilma Luna, well we can put her in the DINO category as well. She sold us out big time.

Anyway I agree with you wholeheartedly that Rep. Raymond is a class act.

On a related note the same blog Dos Centavos says that Ciro has announced he's running officially, and that Raymond and Rodriguez are playing nice to each other for now. Henry is the target for both.

http://dos-centavos.blogspot.com/2005/03/ciro-makes-it-official.html
Defeated San Antonio congressmember Ciro Rodriguez has announced that he will be seeking to unseat Rep. Henry Cuellar. According to the Express-News, Ciro has also formed a lobbyist firm in DC with his former chief of staff. One way or another, it looks like Ciro is going back to Washington.

The E-N reports that State Rep. Richard Raymond and Rodriguez have made a sort of agreement to not talk each other out of running, but to go after Cuellar. Cuellar has yet to prove himself worthy of re-election as he supports the Sensenbrenner bill which calls for a wall to be built on the Mexican border along with other anti-Latino measures, and has been questionable in publicly attacking Bush's proposed changes to social security.
