1. I heard about this at a ADL function

The head of the Houston region for the ADL described getting a telephone call from Byrd's parents and being told of the grave desecration. The ADL was working with Jasper law enforcment and the teens had been picked up for questioning by Tuesday of this week.

The ADL is working on collecting funds to restore the grave.

2. Doesn't seem like they are going to be charged with anything too serious

Even though it seems like an extension of the original hate crime..... Nonetheless, I hope they get as tough a sentence/fine/or whatever penalty as possible. This is one time I could condone some attempt to "send a message."
