Alternatives to Greene
I stumbled across a few candidates who are running against Deminted. I have not heard of the before. Does anyone know anything about them?

Tom Clements, Green Party:

Mazie Ferguson as a write in.

1. Tom Clements will get my vote
I normally wouldn't consider voting for a third party (I'm still furious with Ralph Nader for electing Bush and grateful for Ross Perot electing Clinton) but there is no way I can vote for someone as spectacularly unqualified as Greene. Clements is very well respected in environmental circles, and several county parties are openly supporting him.

2. Greg Snoad
I would highly recommend Greg Snoad to anyone who is looking for an alternative candidate in the SC race for US Senate.

I've personally known him for at least a decade (former student), and I can't think of anyone I would rather vote for than Greg Snoad.

Through teaching classes, leading student organizations like Youth in Government, staying actively involved with the SC Democratic Party, and utilizing social media to keep others engaged, Snoad has shown himself to be someone who wants to work together through civil, constructive discourse to reach an effective, reasonable solution to issues at hand in order to ultimately benefit the common good. His campaign came about after being urged by everyone around him to run for office for years, and he was ultimately sprung to action by the current state of affairs that is the SC election.

To find out more about Greg Snoad's campaign, check him out on on the "Snoad for Senate" group on Facebook, or view interviews with him at these links:

3. After
After reading more on the 3 candidates, I am leaning towards Clements. Even though Snoad seams like a nice enough guy, I consider my vote more important than merely a protest vote. IMO it would be nice if Snoad would use his energy to support Clemments, instead of syphoning off much needed votes from him.
