Over-the-top flyer from Defense of Marriage Coalition

Anyone else receive this? The front of the flyer is innocuous enough--young girl on a school bus (might be a future lesbian, you never know!). The headline reads, "The Classroom WILL NEVER Be The Same."

Then you open it and you're greeted with, "If Measure 36 Fails...Gay and Lesbian Sex Will be Taught in Oregon Schools. Is that what you want?

If that weren't laughable enough, the design has a child's raised hand in a classroom behind this title. You follow the child's arm down the page and it falls on "YES on 36". So the message is, "Gay and Lesbian Sex in Schools. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANT? ....Yes."

1. Are they teaching straight sex in Oregon schools?

I thought sex ed was bad since most kids would run right out and start banging in the parking lot.

My daughter has a tough time in school. Her parents are gay. She can't talk about it too much cause she will be teased. Luckily she blends in as "child of hetero parents" but feels awkward when homosexual epithats are used around her. She must be getting more comfortable though. I heard her use one the other day talking to a friend about a situation when she said "that is so GAY!"

So gay and lesbian are already words used on the school grounds (along with faggot, dyke, queer, and homo). Not talking about it IS THE PROBLEM.

But yea, don't talk to kids about being accepting human beings.

Mine included shamelss images of children and even had a cd-rom in it!

4. I'm going to work in my front yard tommorow so I can talk to everyone

who comes by. I had been ignoring people knocking at my door but I think I'm going to tie up the right-wingers that come by tommorow to waste their time :P

5. Yes. The Yes ON 36 Campaign is using the same tactics that anti-Semitic...

fascists used (and still use) around the world throughout history.

6. They vandalized the Pride Center at OSU the other day.

They ripped out all the No on 36 signs and replaced them with photoshopped Yes on 36 signs.
