2. Yeah, looks like Multnomah county underperformed tonight
by about 25k votes...

What I want to know is who voted for Wyden and Dudley? Who are these fickle freaks of nature?

4. According to the OLive website, Multnomah Co is still being counted.
That was their last post about 2:30 a.m. They specifically made a comment about it being "Democrat-rich". I'd say there is still hope.

6. And it also looks like they threw out local public campaign financing too!
Measure 26-108 looks to have gone down 53%-47%.

That's the opposite direction we need to be going. We need places like Portland and the various states (Arizona, Maine, etc.) to keep in place public campaign financing so that we can expand it nationally instead of shutting it down now. Damn, if I lived on the other side of the street, I'd be in that county instead and could have helped with an extra vote for that to stay...

8. OregonLive as of 8:12 says less than 13,000 votes
And there are still 8% of the ballots to be counted. It's a nail-biter, that's for sure.

9. As of 9:50am
Candidate Votes Vote %
Chris Dudley 637,508 50%
John Kitzhaber 622,952 48%

Still only 77% reported out of Mult. county. This won't be over until tonight at the earliest.

regards,

Mark

10. Truth
Probably right. Though it's precincts not people. If it were %of the votes in, and assuming mult nolds true 70 30, kits would have it by about 11k in the end. But we will see

11. a note from the Whoregonian about the Kitz/Dud race tally
http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2010/11/oregon_governor_chris_dudley_j.html

"Also, one reason Multnomah County is behind on its vote tallying is that more than 90,000 people turned in ballots on the last day - that’s more than did so during the presidential election two years ago."

So it looks like GOTV *did* work in Multnomah County, just real slow. :silly:

12. I had to "hide" all my Republican Facebook friends.
It is amazing to me how nasty and mean-spirited those good Christians can be. Very poor winners, much laughing and pointing at the "democraps."

:::sigh:::

14. 4:02 pm, Tim Hibbitz is calling it for Kitzhaber on Fox Channel 12, Portland
Looks good! Gawd, what a relief that will be when this is official.

Suck it, Dudley!

20. Did you watch Dudley's concession speech on KTVZ about 7:15 last night?
A real head shaker, the way he stumbled around answering reporters' questions. For me it reaffirmed how inadequate he was to be our governor. Stunning as it was to have such a close race, it is a huge relief that Oregonians won't have to say those dreaded words "Governor Dudley". Arghhh!

Governor Kitzhaber--I love the sound of that!

21. The Repubs could have spared us all this anxiety by just running Bill Sizemore from his jail cell.

23. Bill Sizemore is in jail?
As a former resident of Oregon who had to see his smirking face in the newspapers and on TV for years on end, I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

24. I don't really know.
I just remember him saying that he may have to run his campaign from a jail cell when he announced that he was running for the state GOP primary.
