Eugene, Ore. "BULLSHIT"
One protester who made his way into the Eugene rally shouted, "Stop
the war, bring home the troops," several times before he was tackled
by Springfield resident Arthur Briga, a senior citizen and former
Marine. Security officers then escorted the demonstrator from the
hangar. Cheney urged the crowd to treat the protester "with kindness."

What they don't say is the protester wore a pro church t-shirt
and that while five or six old thugs held the man on the floor
of the hanger ... chaney over the microphone was saying... go
easy on him now boys he might see the light as he smiled.

Why tackle the guy?...Wasn't this guy using his first amendment right?

What was he saying?..."Stop the war, bring home the troops"

Freedom of speach was being squelched again by the republicans.

Or

Was this a show put on for the benifit of the media?
bought an paid for by the republicans.

Who is he? What happened to the guy? Where is he?

1. freedom of speech
does not include disrupting a legitimate forum.
I agree that protests are in order, but if you choose
to be disruptive, don't claim you're protected by the
constitution. You'll have to take any lumps you get.

It may be totally appropriate to disrupt a Bush/cheney
rally, but it's civil disobedience, and Thoreau advised
that you have to be ready to accept the consequences,
as he did in going to jail.

3. Yea, but - Cheney is still creepy. Why six thugs, I am sure two would do
to remove the guy. No need for throwing him to the floor either.

Smacks of mob "courage" so of course Cheney would smile approvingly.

Methinks some of these thugs might've preferred the disruptor was a woman, so they could kick her.

4. baaaaaaa
An that makes cheney's comment ok?

We have no freedom of speech when it comes to gatherings...even
when they field questions from the crowd.

Democrats get pilloried in the press because someone wearing a union shirt (and appearing quite a bit like the man's son) tore away a SIGN from the bush supporter at an Edwards rally and made his 3-yo daughter cry.

So this human protesting the Cheney shitfest was physically assaulted. Where's the outrage? Where's the media coverage? Where's the fawning, apologetic bush campaign volunteers?

Oh, I almost forgot. We have two Americas: a happy flag-waving religious one for people who like bush and 1935 Germany for people who don't.
