Alright, I'm here! Now what?

Hey everyone. I promised myself a while back that if I ever got out of my little diddle butt town in Alaska, I would be throwing myself into some sort of activism. Well, here I am now in Bay City, and feeling guilty about not having done squat.

So, what now? I'm not exactly rolling in dough (it was a scrape to get the initial money for my cable connection!), else i've be hemmoraging cash to Kulongoski, but I'd still like to do something...

Glad to hear we have increased by one. If you've been hemorrhaging cash to Kulongoski, you have been doing something. Is there a local Democratic Party group you can join? You sound like an energetic and enthusiastic person who would be an asset to any such group.

3. Welcome to Oregon!

Always glad to have intelligent, thoughtful Dems move to our state, especially DUers!

I lived quite a few years in Tillamook County back in the early 70s so am somewhat familiar with that area. I'd say, keep supporting Gov. Kulongoski (notwithstanding the Oregonian's idiotic Saxton endorsement) and share with everyone you can why they should vote for Ted (lots and lots of reasons!). Is the Headlight Herald still the only newspaper there? Hard to say who they'll endorse, but that nothwithstanding, word of mouth goes a long way towards influencing people to vote the right way. Whatever, you have nothing to feel guilty about. Leaving AK and supporting Ted are two biggies in your favor!

Incidentally, if you haven't already done so and would like to read a fascinating book set on the Oregon Coast, Tillamook area specifically, in the 19th century, I recommend "Trask" by Don Berry. Really resonated with me, especially after having lived there for a few years.
