went with louis gomez for sheriff. i liked burger ok, but there were some allegations that he was using the job and company resources, as it were, to campaign, so i went with gomez. he had struck me as a stand-up guy anyhow, and a bit of diversity in law enforcement doesn't seem like such a bad thing to me either. and when someone gets the endorsement of the entire establishment like burger did, i just get a creepy feeling...

which is why i had a hard time but i marked don hampton for east county commissioner. it's not like there was a real choice there.
