Ohio CCW Reciprocity
Ohio now has Concealed Carry Reciprocity with the following states.

Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, North Carolina, Washington and Michigan. This means that Ohioans who have valid Concealed Handgun Licenses may carry concealed in those states. It also means that people who have licenses or permits from those states may carry in Ohio. What a wonderful thing. More information may be found at http://www.ag.state.oh.us/web_applications/concealcarry/reciprocity.asp and at www.ohioccw.org

I am thrilled, as I am the proud owner of a Concealed Handgun License.

2. Truly
Odd though, that it took such a "good Republican" like Boob Tax, I mean, Bob Taft, so long to get us concealed. I guess he was too busy creating another budget deficit and cutting library funding.

4. Heh
Gov. Shaft was a major obstacle to Ohio finally getting a concealed carry law, and he was responsible for most of the bizarre provisions in the law.

5. Reciprocity
This is great news. I have a new license from Ohio and older licenses from a few other states, so that I can now legally carry a concealed firearm in 29 states. I expect VA will sign an agreement with Ohio and/or Florida soon to make 30. I can now drive from Florida to Washington state without leaving a state in which I can carry. :)

I love to hear from other gun-toting Democrats. Sometimes I feel so alone at shooting competitions.

6. Do you think CCW and bikes are good combo?
We cyclists get kind of steamed about the intentionally rude and life-threatening stunts some freeper motorists pull. Do you think they would be more polite if they feared I was packing some nickel-plated steel in my jersey pocket?

7. Um...
If that is among your motivations for CCW, then perhaps you should reconsider. ;) Besides which, they're in a car. You're on a bike. You're not in a position of strength, regardless of what you're carrying.

9. A few headlines about drivers getting popped will make 'em think twice
It's called respect. Sometimes it's the only thing these types understand.

Maybe in group rides, we can have one guy carrying a BAR on the rear rack. That will balance the power equation. Take turns toting it--share the load. Another guy can sling a hundred rounds of ammunition over his shoulder like the old time racers used to do with spare inner tubes.

8. on a bike...
assert your rights...right in the middle o' the freakin lane! if they hit you (you DID wear your helmet, right?), make sure it's them who's hurting at the end of the day. medical damages, pain and suffering, loss of consortium, punitives...boy, it can really add up. "go ahead, hit me...i need the money!"

boy it would sure suck to have lawyers leading the government making laws....or something.

16. Add Wyoming
The Ohio attorney general today posted a new reciprocity agreement with Wyoming. This makes seven. All seven agreements may be found at the original link.

20. I saw that yesterday.
I'm pleased, but I've never been to Delaware. I don't expect that to change soon.

I'm waiting for South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Those will make me really happy. :)
