| Kerry Coming to Cincinnati June 15th |
|
Should have included this in the meeting recap in the other thread. But John Kerry will be attending a fundraiser in Cincinnati on June 15th -- the exact details aren't finalized yet.
Now there's good new and bad news in this regard. The bad news is that it's a $1,000 per plate dinner -- which means that I won't be attending! But the goal is to raise $500,000 in one visit to Cincinnati. Imagine the psychological impact it will have for Kerry to visit one of the most famously conservative cities in America and walk away with a half million dollars in his pocket! The good news is simply that we can make a hell of a statement.
Now if you'd like to help out by donating an a smaller scale, I'll post the pertinent information as soon as it comes available. And if you live in Cincinnati, you might want to lobby the state and national campaign to schedule a more public event so us poor folks can attend.

| 1. Yeah, it would be nice if they invited everybody, not just the fat-cats |
|
The last rally was great. It would be nice if we could see him again before the election.

| 2. There is a small opening... |

If you host a house party that raises a thousand dollars, they'll give you a ticket. Unfortunately most of my friends are either so poor or so Republican that there's no way in hell I could raise that kind of money.
But as I said, e-mail the state and national campaign and urge them to hold a public event (or at least a private event that's open to our rank-and-file slobs). I think it would make for good video and that's never a bad thing.

| 3. Couldn't he do a short pre-rally for us "rank-and-file slobs?" |
|
An hour at Lunken Airport would do the trick... then they whisk him away to collect the checks downtown.
Why not??

| 4. I tried sending a message to the national campaign |
|
but it just auto generates a reply (to be fair, they'd have to hire several fulltime staffers just to read e-mail). Although I didn't want to do it, I'm going to pester Patrick about this subject. Just an hour before or after the gig would be enough; I hope his schedule isn't that tight so soon in the campaign.
