Brunner goes after Cuyahoga County Elections Board, legally
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 12:07 PM by poli speak
Whether Bob Bennett challenges this in court, or not, I would say to Brunner and the Democratic team , if I were playing chess, "great move." Impressive. Gets the fox out of the chicken coop, too. Wow.

Another surprise for the Republicans! Let's get all their money and energy tied up in Court!

NEW UPDATE and reason for this edit: ACLU is backing The Secretary of State. See same page on OPENERS (Cleveland Plain Dealer).

Awesome!

1. Hey, Guys and Gals, remember that Bennett is also Chair of the Ohio Republican Party
this is great news for us and it's going to rock their world. Not exactly the way they want (i.e,.Bob can't steal the next election while the (newly created) Deputy (position) watches and also goes about all the other steering work)

4. I remember someone pointing out Bennett's bloataceous yacht at Edgewater Yacht Club
...back in the 1990s. I think he had motored down from one of the "silver service" yacht clubs like Cleveland Yacht Club.

8. Florkiewicz, a Republican, accused Brunner, of using the board to "advance a partisan agenda
Good catch!
Cuyahoga County elections board member Sally Florkiewicz resigned Tuesday, leaving only the board chairman to fight removal by Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.

On her way out, Florkiewicz, a Republican whose term was to expire in 2012, accused Brunner, a Democrat, of using and said she is "not willing to be used as a political statement."

Board Chairman Bob Bennett said Tuesday that he has no intention of resigning. Instead, he requested that the county prosecutor's office defend him against charges leveled by Brunner that board members violated state election laws and failed to properly administer elections. http://www.cleveland.com/news/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/cuyahoga/117507148846300.xml&coll=2

10. Bennett said that prosecutor Mason had "endorsed" what the BOE had done
... in the process of the recount. Bennett is implying that Mason reversed his position. I am foggy on the details, but that is what I recall from the Plain Dealer.

11. Shall we call him Cry Bobby?
"endorsed" and, I'm sure I read somewhere, if it wasn't right, it was Mason's fault

Now he wants Mason to defend him. So much for alleged incompetency there, I guess.

I think it's funny because he wants to blame a Democrat, he wants a Democrat to use his time to defend (his) corrupt Republican practices, and now he's saying the Democrat is the one that has to fix it.

Give it up, Bob.

5. I think the GOP will give us all a 'clinic" on how to fight. I am not saying they
will win, or that they are right......but they sure know how to stick to their guns and fight.
