DUers in Charlotte area....
Been looking at houses for sale in Midwood area. I have noticed some of them have MAJOR antiBush material on their fridges. heheh.

OK...who's selling their house?
;))))

Suitably delighted.

1. Hey, BLM, you know it's a good sign...
When the realtors in Charlotte are letting the current homeowers leave that stuff on their fridges--maybe they're starting to think it'll HELP SELL the house!:D :eyes:

B-)

2. That is a quite liberal area, I think.
I think Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth are much more liberal than, say, Eastover or Myers Park.

Good choice of neighborhood, I think. I love all the trees and I would move to the Plaza in an instant!

3. Is this Dilworth, by any chance?
My sister lived in the Dilworth area for a few years and loved it.

4. We haven't even looked at Dilworth
because the prices are so high and we are looking for at least 2000 sq ft.

The houses tend to be SO small with hefty price tags.

I have a sister living in Cornelius on Lake Norman. (Retired BFEE enabler)

6. You might want to look South of the border.
My bro lives in SC but works in Charlotte.

5. Hey Novi!
I'm shopping in Durham. Know of anything for sale and not too expensive?

9. Good question Phenyx,
My favorite neighborhood in Durham has always been on the way to Northgate, the older neighborhood between Hillandale and Guess Roads. Lots of historic housing there, but the closer to Northgate you get, the meaner the neighborhood.

There's Hope Valley, the eternally posh, old-moneied section of Durham.

There's also:

- Crosdale (pronounced Crowsdale) which is off Hillandale just to the west of 85.

- There's North Durham, farther out than Crosdale, closer to Northern High School. You might find something in the "affordable" category there, depending on what your price range is. My aunt lives in a duplex off Duke St and seems to enjoy it. It's apartment sized, but it's right for an elderly lady of 84. And yeah, she's just dying for company. :D

The other suggestion is Orange County where I am. In fact I just saw a FOR SALE sign on a house in the development up the road from me today. It's a small house and in a very well kept, quiet neighborhood.

7. Further north.
Plaza Midwood is North of Central. If you take Central into town, it's the last major neighborhood before you cross the railroad and are in downtown. It's neat - along Central itself in the neighborhood there are lots of shops, restaurants, and it's not like Independence with parking lots in front. The storefronts are right up on the street.
