Buffalo, NY Gets Two Liberal Talk Radio Stations
http://billboardradiomonitor.com/radiomonitor/news/form...

In Buffalo, the progressive talk programming is going to be left-of-center meets further-left-of-center. Entercom and Citadel are about to duke it out with progressive talk programming in the market as each group flips an AM there into the format.

Entercom flipped its WWKB yesterday (Feb. 6) while Citadels WHLD is set to debut next Monday, Feb. 13. The programming lineup on WWKB is a healthy dose of well-known personalities: CNNs Bill Press (6 a.m.-9 a.m.), Democracy Radios Stephanie Miller (9 a.m.-12 noon), self-syndicated Leslie Marshall (noon-3 p.m.), P1s Ed Schultz (3 p.m.-7 p.m.), unspecified programming from 7 p.m.-10 p.m., and WORs Lionel (10 p.m.-1 a.m.) and Joey Reynolds overnight.

Citadels progressive talker will have its own set of well-known personalities, but the interesting twist here is that Citadels programming change comes from an LMA deal with Niagara Independent Mediaand includes a unique blend of Pacifica Radio and Air America programming. Billboard Radio Monitor previously reported on the LMA with NIM, but details on the programming lineup werent immediately available then.

According to a release from NIM , WHLD will feature Air Americas Al Franken, Randi Rhodes, and Laura Flanders, along with Pacifica Radios Democracy Now, Flashpoints, and Free Speech Radio News. The rest of the lineup, per NIM, will include local programming promoting a diverse and spirited dialog on important issues facing our community.

1. Buffalo, NY Gets Two Liberal Talk Radio Stations
Just logged in to post this news, having heard a commercial for the new WWKB this morning! This station always had a huge signal and could be heard all over the east. Hope they can make a go of it!

3. Is Brother Weeze still on the air?
(out of Rochester). Back in 1993 he was the only market that Howard Stern didn't win in.
