Trenton firefighter layoffs postponed
Anyone who knows our states capital, Trenton, knows that city can ill afford to lose any essential services.

Let's see if governor lard-ass can screw this up the way he did the lost funding for Race to the Top and the ARC tunnel, to name Christie's two most costly errors.

Chris Christie has PERSONALLY lost New Jersey $690 million in federal funding IN HIS FIRST ELEVEN MONTHS IN OFFICE! And that's not counting the billions in funding for the ARC tunnel that will never be replaced.

Let's see if governor dumbo can maintain his perfect record of incompetence and reckless stupidity by somehow losing this funding too.

"The 61 firefighters slated to lose their jobs this week received a one-month reprieve as the city waits to hear whether the fire department will receive a multimillion-dollar grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Robbinsville, meanwhile, learned that it was one of the first municipalities nationally to receive one of the FEMA grants intended to ensure proper staffing of fire departments. The grants come from the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program. The Robbinsville fire department was awarded $700,604 on Dec. 24, according to FEMA’s website.

Trenton Battalion Chief John Gribbin, who has been working to answer federal officials’ questions about the funding application, said FEMA told him to expect a decision soon on a grant that could be worth $13 million over two years.

“I’ve been told maybe sometime in the third week of January I should hear something, one way or another,” Gribbin said."
