Poll Gives Corzine Apparent Lead (Likely voters 9pts, Registered 15pts!)
POSTED: 11:30 am EDT October 21, 2005
UPDATED: 2:40 pm EDT October 21, 2005

TRENTON, N.J. -- A new poll gives Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jon Corzine an apparent lead over Republican contender Doug Forrester as the two head into the final weeks of the race.

The New York Times poll published Friday gives Corzine a 46 percent to 37 percent edge over Forrester among people who are likely to vote. Corzine held a clearer lead among a wider pool of registered voters, with 48 percent to Forrester's 33 percent, the newspaper reported.

The poll also suggests voters have tired of the multimillionaire candidates' attack ads, with respondents saying the two men should put more energy into explaining how they would tackle the problems of high property taxes and government corruption.

The statewide telephone poll of 1,013 adults, including 869 registered voters and 750 likely voters, was conducted Oct. 14-19 and has a sampling error margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Among subsets, the error margins were plus or minus 3 points for registered voters, and plus or minus 4 points for likely voters.

1. it's odd that
when forrester was coming up, all the headlines screamed: "Closing the Gap!!!!!". now that corzine is pulling ahead again, the media's take is "the electorate doesn't care anymore"

2. Because the media aka M$M is a GOP mouth piece. They own it.
There owners are fully rethuglicans. The USA media is 100% for profit. Republicans gave the 5 owners of the US media there power, now the media has to answer to the republicans. The M$M has created a Fascist monster in this country.

10. It's not that simple
It's just harder for the MSM conglomorates to allow their networks to be critical of something that benefits them so much...The owner of ABC is a registered democrat, but his vote and support is where the interest of the company's success lies.

7. The Record Poll: Corzine: 51% Forrester: 42%
6% of voters are undecided in the poll while only 7% say they are "somewhat" or "very likely" to change their minds.

Also, the Record endorsed Doug Forrester for Governor saying Corzine's campaign contributions are too much of an issue and that the best man for the job is not running.... Richard Codey.

8. Well its to be expected from the Record
the editors are republicans and will endorse republicans unless you run against a right wing whack job or are the incumbent.

12. Thanks for the Welcome!!!!
I'm from New York myself also (New York State to be more exact), and before that, California. My family moved to New Jersey last year. Life here is somewhat more bearable knowing that the state has become solidly Democratic in the last decade or so. :)
