Justin Nadeau: Stealth Republican

"Justin Nadeau, Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in New Hampshire’s
First Congressional District, will tour local small businesses in Conway,
New Hampshire with Former Republican State Senator Mark Hounsell."

Does anyone remember Mark Hounsell? If not, here's a primer:

Hounsell was a co-chair of Pat Robertson's presidential campaign;

Last year, he told NH Right To Life that he opposes legal abortion even in cases of rape or incest;

He attempted to rename a mountain in Albany, NH for Ronald Reagan before Reagan even left office;

He campaigned for Craig Benson and spearheaded attacks against Gordon Humphrey among "Christian Conservatives".

He had a belligerently right wing voting record in the state senate, sparking a primary challenge from moderate Republicans who were embarrassed by his antics.

Now we are supposed to think that his presence in the camp of a Democratic candidate is a good thing? Either Nadeau is dumber than a bucket of bricks or he is a willing stooge of the GOP.

1. Not good
Do whatever you can to get your Dem away from this psycho Repub. Here in GA, we lost control of our state senate because 4 people who were elected as Dems immediately switched parties after being elected. Bastards.

2. I had a house party for Justin.
I did not know that about him. He has been a Dem for a while and so I support him. I will heed your advice though and I'm actually going to ask him about his association with this guy. Thanks for the heads up!

5. While you're at it...

...ask him why he is serving as part of the Craig Benson propaganda machine, with his idiotic "anti-income tax petition".

For years, Democrats have fought and taken lumps in an effort to reform NH's screwy tax structure. Now we have "Democrat" Nadeau leading the charge, and giving Republican legislative candidates plenty of ammo to use against Dem legislators who had the guts to do the right thing.

I'm sorry, but Nadeau is a craven little demagogue who is knifing dozens of Dems for the sake of his own selfish goals.

3. Mark Hounsell
Has left the Republican Party - he's now a registered Independant. He has a terrible record, it's true - but he's beginning, slowly, to see the error of his ways - or at least some of them. I saw him at a press conference a few months ago on "right to work laws" and what he said was dynamite.

I actually know Mark - and saw him last week at the local premiere of Fahrenheit 911. When I came out of the theater, he was talking to a Republican, saying to him, "Anyone with a conscience will not be able to vote Republican this year."

He's not perfect, by any means - but he's a work in progress.

4. For a price...
Mark Hounsell is opposed to RTW because he is being paid to oppose RTW; he's now a paid lobbyist for the Building Trades Council.

When he wasn't on the payroll-when it mattered-Hounsell sold out his fellow tradespeople for the sake of a right wing agenda.

6. I hear you
and I'm not inclined to cut any Carroll County politicians any slack, but I've talked to Mark at length - and he seems to be in the process of having an awakening. I don't expect he's going to ever be fully conscious - but he's not the same guy he was when he was a right wing state senator.

7. Nadeau Must Be Stopped
Whether or not he appears to be or not be like he was the fact remains. Most times a politician will change his public views to better his chances. Yet he remains true to himself. Look no further then Paul McEachern, he was pro income tax in his first run for governor then in his next two runs was against it to win the support of Jeanne Shaheen, now hes back to his roots.

My self and Bob Bruce have been communciating of late, we share the same goal. Educate voters about Justin Nadeau and do whats needed to defeat him on September 14.

Nadeau has continuously failed to reply to challenges to debates, broken federal campaign finance laws as pointed out by Bob and a number of other issues. Whats he have to hide? perhaps as the gentleman who started this string has suggested he is a "stealth republican" and by debating his true colors will show.

On September 15, I look forward to being at a gereral election kick off rally either accepting Bob Bruce's endorsement or by endorsing Bob Bruce as the democratic nominee in the 1st District. Either way New Hampshire will be in good hands with Bob or myself as the nominee and I will work hard to ensure we defeat Jeb Bradley on November 2.

8. Nadeau
is a typical slick Shaheen Democrat. Thanks, but no thanks. Of course, you know the state party is going to be all over him - he's their kind of guy.

Bob Bruce is a great guy who has some good brains working in his campaign - and his wife is awesome.
