I'd read this on another website. Just wondering what you Big Sky folks could tell me about the facts on the ground?

1. False.
Kelleher is extremely anti-choice (among other things) and, essentially, a total loon. He once thought the U.S. political system should be changed to a Parliament government (as opposed to a Federal government). Mind you he said this before we got George the Worst.

However, the Repukes here are totally fractured. Lange is opting to become a write-in candidate, and the state GOP party wants nothing to do with Kelleher.

Baucus will cruise to re-election.

2. yikes
baucus has definitely stood up for the pro-choice movement in his votes...

my understanding tho is that the guy running for the GOP wants to have nationalised healthcare and a nationalised oil industry... must be a whacko if choice is the only reason hes a republican...

3. In some ways yes
He's a perennial candidate who's run for every statewide office at least once as a Green, Democrat, Indy and what-have-you. He ran as a Republican this time and won in a four or five way primary. This greatly angered (and shocked) the state GOP since Kelleher isn't really a Republican and is in no way a serious candidate. As a previous poster said: he's a loon.
