The same people sending in the $100, $500, and $1000 checks to Burns are the ones who vote NO on every school funding levy.

Old, ignorant, white, and FREE dammit!

Burns raises almost $1 million in 3 months
By CHARLES S. JOHNSON
Gazette State Bureau

HELENA - Republican U.S. Sen. Conrad Burns raised nearly $1 million for his campaign the past three months, which is about as much as the top two Democratic challengers, John Morrison and Jon Tester, have raised combined for their entire campaigns.

Like most incumbent senators, Burns began raising money shortly after he was re-elected in 2000, while the two Democrats announced their candidacies this year. Morrison jumped into the Senate race in April, while Tester launched his campaign in May.

For the quarter ending Sept. 30, Burns raised $989,131 to boost his 2006 campaign total receipts to $4.16 million. Burns said he has raised more money over the latest period than any U.S. Senate candidate from Montana has ever garnered during a three-month period. A Billings fundraiser over the summer featuring Vice President Dick Cheney helped bring in the cash. Burns said he had 2,034 individual donors during the period, with 77 percent of them Montanans.

The three-term senator spent $296,054 during the period to raise his total expenses to $1.26 million.

1. it's easy to raise cash when you're nothing but a sell out....
Any politician can raise money if they whore themselves out to the right people. Conrad would sell out to anybody for a nickel, just like Bush does, so that's why he gets so much money. It's tough to beat a sell out.
