1. I like Schweitzer too
As so many DUers have pointed out, we have never seen Bush on a horse.

2. I've liked him since the bus trips to Canada. I'm glad he's gov. but
wish he'd made it to the Senate against one of those no-names. And now this, what a great Democrat! These are my kind of values!

3. I would prefer that our next candidate
be a governor. And Montana is a great state for a Dem nominee.

I think people are getting tired of Southern and Texas presidents (Johnson, Carter, Clinton, the Bushes). California had Nixon and Reagan. Massachusetts gave us Kennedy and a chance with Kerry.

Something in my gut tells me that people are ready for a different part of the country to give us a president.

5. Brian is a great governor and guy, but I wouldn't call him
a Democrat, more a Populist. Just the fact that his Lt Gov running mate was a Rep is proof enough. He just does what he feels is right for the people without all the partisan bullshit. It's leaving the Reps in the Montana senate and house pretty much speechless, in order to side with their party they obviously appear to care less about the people. I have a good feeling this will be the demise of the Rep party in Montana.

6. How does Schweitzer/Spitzer 2008 sound?
Or the other way around.

7. Unfortunately running for POTUS requires you to start in early 2007
The guy was just inaugurated Governor this year, he needs more than two years to govern before he can run for POTUS. God forbid we don't win in 2008, however, I think that he'd make a damn good Presidential candidate for 2012 or even in 2016.
