Why have I been hearing Matt Blunt ads on the radio?
He's not up for reelection...is he?

Sources tell Fired Up! that Governor Matt Blunt's political committee will begin airing TV ads on August 9, 2006, a full two years before he is expected to face vigorous opposition in the GOP primary for re-election. Blunt is widely expected to face State Treasurer Sarah Steelman and former Supreme Court Judge Chip Robertson in a fierce battle for renomination.

Blunt's ads will begin the day after the 2006 primary, and run at least through August 15th. So far, the Blunt campaign has made buys in the Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Kirksville, and Springfield TV markets.

There is no word yet on the content of the ads.
