4. I will probably move to KC within the next year

I live in Iowa, but will likely move to Kansas City in the next year. I lived in KC for a summer and think I'd rather live in the Missouri side. The Kansas side seemed kind of uppity.

8. I am a lifelong KC resident

I have lived on both sides of the state line and prefer Kansas. Several reasons:
Better schools - but NCLB is bringing them all down these days
Better consumer protection laws in KS
Car insurance - our rates went down by 50% when we moved from MO to KS 10 years ago. KS has a very strict mandatory auto insurance law. The fine for driving without insurance is $600 in KS. And the highway patrol will confiscate your tags if you let your insurance lapse. For many years, MO had no mandatory auto insurance law. They have one now but it is weak.
No stupid annual car inspection in KS to get your tags renewed. That is one of the biggest rackets in MO. Many people in MO can point you to a gas station that will do an 'inspection' for about 3-4 times the mandated fee. In other words, you can buy the sticker without having your car actually inspected.

Advantages to living in MO include cheaper gas and cigarettes - if you smoke. But KS residents can just buy gas and cigs in MO without moving there. And sadly, MO can no longer claim to be a Democrat stronghold. That used to be a big advantage.
