Message from Coleen Rowley on today's vigil in support of Whistleblower Bradley Manning (wikileaks)
I’ve just painted a ton of signs for the demonstration outside Mayday Books, 301 Cedar Ave , Minneapolis , tomorrow, Friday Sept. 17th (starts at 4:30 pm). (parking garage is right next to plaza)

And now all we need is enough people to hold them!

Please come help us support Bradley Manning and the exposure of war crimes!

As General Petraeus and Obama back away from Obama’s promise to begin
withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan in 2011, we need to support PFC
Bradley Manning just as people did in supporting Daniel Ellsberg’s efforts
to get the ugly truth out about the Vietnam War. Manning is being held in
the Quantico Marine brig and is facing 52 years and the wrath of the Pentagon
for having “leaked” the “Collateral Murder <http://www.collateralmurder.com/> ” video of the Apache helicopter shooting of Iraqi civilians including two Reuters employees and two children.

WikiLeaks is planning on posting 15,000 more Af-Pak War documents. 22 American
soldiers were killed in the war just last week. Sign the petition to
support Manning <http://www.bradleymanning.org/> at: http://www.petitiononline.com/manning1/petition.html.
(Rally and press conference in the Twin Cities beginning at 4:30 pm at the
Mayday Bookstore, 301 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, on Friday, Sept. 17th.)

Minnesota Activists Stand up for Bradley Manning

Rally to Free Bradley Manning and Screening of WikiLeak's Collateral Murder

Minneapolis, Minn. — As part of the Global Days of Action, Twin Cities peace activists are hosting a rally to free Bradley Manning along with a screening of “Collateral Murder” on Friday, September 17th. The rally will take place beginning at 4:30 p.m. outside of Mayday Books on the corner of 3rd Street and Cedar Avenue followed by a screening of Collateral Murder inside the bookstore at 301 Cedar Avenue .

Local activists and peace organizations will also be there to provide short statements about why they support Bradley Manning, who is facing up to 52 years in prison for simply blowing the whistle on war crimes. The rally is being held on the 223rd anniversary of the U.S. Constitution and will feature statements from Military Families Speak Out, Vets for Peace, Women Against Military Madness (WAMM), and other concerned individuals.

In addition, there will be a screening of the 17-minute version of "Collateral Murder", the film made public in 2010 by Wikileaks showing the murders of two Reuters photographers and other innocent civilians. This rally and video screening is part of the International Days of Action with rallies being held in over 18 cities around the globe.
