Pawlenty says that Obama's talk for the kids is "uninvited"
And, apparently, there are several schools that do not want to carry the talk live. What is wrong with them?

I think that Pawlenty has to uninvite himself from the governor mansion. Now.

1. So Pawlenty is opposed to political figures talking to school children?

10. Nice...he's such a hypocrite, and that's the nicest thing I can call him
What was his lecture? "How to disguise taxes as "fees"?

5. Sadly, he still holds the pen to sign all the "unallotments"
that hurt everyone but, he hopes, will give him the desire credentials to lead the GOP in 2012. Let him and see how he falls flat on his face.

3. Pawlenty is pure evil

In May 2009, he vetoed a bill passed by the Minnesota legislature that would have allowed terminally ill patients to ease their pain with medical marijuana.

What could be more heartless than that?

4. Cutting general assistance medical was probably more heartless
(or just as). The poorest of the poor, many with chronic physical or mental problems left without healthcare. Pawlenty's minister should frog march him to the door the next time he has the gall to show up at services.

7. Can you tell us more about Wooddale Church? The site doesn't say much really.
I am curious if T-Paw has used his faith in paid for trips or other things that might be of interest or to research. Thanks.

15. The site tells me that this is the typical suburban megachurch,
one of those evangelical congregations that springs up out of nothing and suddenly has a full campus.

(Having grown up as a Lutheran pastor's daughter, I find it odd that they can build such expensive buildings so fast, and I seriously wonder if they are getting under-the-counter funding from the Scaife foundation and the like.

Anyway, these churches are one-stop shopping centers for a social life in areas that have no natural community institutions.

9. Mrs. Pawlenty visits schools
From the website of the first lady of Minnesota, Mary Pawlenty:

"The first lady frequently visits elementary schools to teach students about our system of democracy. The first lady focuses on expanding school children’s knowledge and understanding of the three branches of government, providing a special emphasis on the judiciary."

Wow! Do schools screen her content, look for embedded messages, force kids to listen?
Does Timmy object to his wife's sordid pastime?

13. I'm a rookie here...
and I don't know what LTTE is. I'm too new to post, it that's what it means. Just found the state forums yesterday, so I have a lot of exploring and learning to do to do.

(At least I'm "young" somewhere!)

14. LTTE = Letter to the Editor
Acronyms can be tricky...and you're not too new to post. Welcome.

12. Lovely...
My school board, superintendents, and principal (and Mister Pawlenty) just got this from me:

To whom it may concern:

If the President of the United States of America is going to be gracious enough to speak to the children of our nation to encourage them to do well in school this year, then I _expect_ that my child will be allowed to hear his speech, in full, in her classroom, on the first day of school.

Thank you very much.
