Even though I'd like to see The Tool get the hell out of Minnesota, I can't imagine why an allegedly up-and-coming Republican would want to hitch himself to a loser like Captain Combover.

1. Blinded by ambition
No doubt Timmy thinks that even if McCain goes down in flames, he will emerge unscathed and the heir apparent for 2012. Timmy forgets that no one remember Bill Miller until Stephanie got her radio show.

2. A way to get ahead of Normy in the long run
after he was forced to "hold back" and run for Governor and not Senator by Rove's orders a few years ago. He thinks he has something to prove on the national level.

4. I doubt it.
Tim has done more for non-US countries than he has for the State's voters that put him in to govern this state in the first place. (google 'Best Buy Pawlenty' for more.)

That makes him more than well qualified to run this country, since when's the last time we had a president that worked for ALL Americans?

5. Are you trying to be sarcastic here?
I am not getting it. Are you saying Pawlenty would be a good VP pick for McCains chances of winning?

6. No, he said Pawlenty doesn't work for Americans or Minnesotans, so of course he'd be a Repub pick

I don't see how you could pick a VP nominee from a state in which the bridges are falling down due to non-maintenance and stand any chance at all of winning. I guess that really shows your anti-tax "cred."

7. Falling bridges is a fine example of how a "socialist" road system doesn't work
and a good reason why the entire infrastructure should be turned over to private companies. The free market will keep those roads repaired! :sarcasm:

9. Wholly agreed!
With your comment, not the concept of letting big private corporations, who seem to care more about the bottom line far more than anything approaching infrastructure taking control of infrastructure -- because we all know, they will do sod all about it.

8. Thanks :)
You summed it up perfectly. :) I don't know where or how I missed the re-definition of "state governor", but I thought a governor kept the job specific to issues within the state being governed.

All those trips to help big corporations set up shop in other states or countries, when these same companies could surely pull themselves up by their own bootstraps (right?) and not need government to help them out, seem superfluous at best. Or, rather, I don't see how helping Best Buy everywhere else is going to help you or I or our state of Minnesota?
