Howard Dean calls Michele Bachmann a "right-wing lunatic"
from Minnesota Monitor:

http://tinyurl.com/4ck5ut

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean delivered a 20-minute, meat-and-potatoes speech to the state DFL convention in Rochester this afternoon, vowing to win back the White House and increase the party's margins in Congress.

"Our goal is to end the Bush administration and not allow a third term for George W. Bush," Dean said to thunderous applause. "We honor John McCain's service to America, but he has served enough ...

... The DNC chairman directed his harshest words at freshman Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann. "That's not a right-wing lunatic district," he said of the 6th Congressional District. "That's average hardworking Americans."

1. Is Howard Dean's implication....
...that some Congressional districts should be represented by right-wing lunatics (but MN-6 isn't one of them)?

2. Apparently, Howard Dean doesn't know that Minnesotans aren't comfortable with that sort of bluntness
(really, someone should have given him a copy of "How to Speak Minnesotan" before he got here.) He should have said something like "And Michelle Bachmann uff da!" The delegates would have understood that he meant that Bachmann is batshit crazy.

Just kidding, I love what he said.

4. Summary of Howard Dean speech
http://www.mncampaignreport.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=1509

Dean:
- We want to congratulate Senator Obama, and we want to congratulate Americans on their record turnout.
- Hillary Clinton inspired millions, and we have not seen the last of Hillary Rodham Clinton.
- Even Republicans don't like what George Bush and John McCain have done to this country.
- This has been a hard-fought race, and at times there have been bitterness and disagreements. The time for those disagreements is over.
- We honor John McCain's service to America, but he has served enough.
- We need to spend that money in America, on jobs, and schools, and
- The average wage has decreased $1,000 during Bush's presidency.
- How can McCain run for president when he doesn't even believe children deserve the same healthcare they have in Britain?
- There is one change McCain has not mentioned. That is that the John McCain of 2000 would not vote for the John McCain of 2008.
- We want a Democrat to join Amy Klobuchar in the United States Senate.
- MN has signed up over 5,000 neighborhood volunteers.
- We're going to make sure Michelle Bachmann goes back to Crawford, TX, too.
- You can't sit down and negotiate with Israel and Palestine if you don't have moral authority, and Bush has squandered that.
- We're going to redeem ourselves for the last 8 years, and have a better country and a better world.

Edited on Thu Jun-12-08 08:11 AM by Union Yes
Bakkkmann: Fuck our troops in Iraq AND the middle class and poor, we've got to save incandescent bulbs from the scourge of commie pinko flourescents.

This issue IS and actual campaign issue for Mrs. KKK.
