Poll question: Pawlenty vs. Coleman
who annoys you more? I honestly can't decide now.

1. Coleman, definitely Coleman
a total air head. There is no "there" there. Boy do I miss Paul Wellstone. Paul Wellstone would answer every letter I ever wrote to him, every one. Thoughtful, responsive replies. He was a national treasure and far ahead of his time.

2. Yeah, Coleman the ex-Democrat
Coleman is a complete waste of time. He was a dickhead when he was a Democrat, too. His jumping over to the Repubs only cemented my bad opinion of him.

His "I'm a 99% improvement over Wellstone" comment was completely out of line, and drove any last iota of respect I may have had for him from my mind. What a jackass. I can't WAIT to see him have his ass handed to him in 2008!!!!!

One of my favorite 2002 campaign commercials was the one where Normie was speaking at the 1996 state convention, endorsing Clinton and Wellstone. What a classic!

3. "Paul Wellstone is a Democrat. I am a Democrat."
God, I hate Normie. I can't stand his horse-face. It makes me sick that he thinks he is a lot better than Paul Wellstone. What has he done that makes him better? Absolutely nothing! :grr:

4. Coleman sucks so unbelievably bad
he is simply a tool for Bush. Done more fundraising for Bush* than work he has done for Minnesota. Lousy puppet then has the nerve to say he is a Dylan fan. Man can't have his politics and have EVER been a Dylan fan.

5. Tough call...
In my mind, I guess it comes down to who's worse for Minnesota.

And in that regard, I have to give the nod to Pawlenty. His budget stuck it to the Minnesotans who A) didn't vote for him, and B) can least afford it. His policies are ruining our quality of life and long after he's tossed out on his ass, Minnesotans will still be paying for his stupid blunders.

7. I'm with ya Trots
Pawlenty is more flat-out evil.
Coleman is just a self-centered opportunist who has discovered that serving as B*sh's personal boilerroom telemarketer advances his own interests. Plus, he has less direct impact on turning our state into 'New Texas'

11. I absolutely agree
This sure was a tough call, since I despise them both, but Pawlenty has directly caused me pain with his half-assed 'no tax, hurt the poor' policy.

6. You mean Senator Bush?
Because Norm the Weasel ran on his promise to be a rubber stamp for anything the Not So Great Pretender wanted to enact.

8. COLEMAN! Fake MN'r, fake politician who couldn't wait his turn in the DFL.
And if I hear that hideous "HEEyuk-yuk" laugh one more time in MN, especially beyond 2006, I will move, and disowne this state.

9. Coleman used Wellstone's death to help him win and then thanked God...
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 08:37 PM by HypnoToad
Star Tribune, page A17, "I thank God for this opportunity." (on edit: Nov 5 2002 issue as I recall...)

His ads after Wellstone's death were crass, to say the least...

He's a lizard. A scumbag. Human trash that's been decaying and is truly smelly and vomit-inducing.

However, comparing Coleman and Pawlenty is like comparing botulism and typhus. Both are vile diseases.

10. Even though I don't live in the state anymore...
... I will donate money to see Norm Coleman defeated. I didn't like him as mayor of St. Paul, but the whole post-Wellstone thing makes me completely revile him.

12. Pawlenty!!!
Coleman is just one more freshman Rep. senator who has about as much power as every other freshman senator without a mind of their own. Pawlenty on the other hand is closer to home and has a greater ability to take away what makes Minnesota a nice place to live.

14. Coleman
Though I'd really like to see either booted out of office-Gov. Mike Hatch and Sen. Judi Dutcher sounds good to me.

15. Pawlenty because his actions are immediate and direct
Coleman is just one vote in the senate and his vote does not make much of a difference in our daily life.

Pawlenty and his "lieutenants" have already affected our daily life with their budget priorities and with their right-wing policies about abortion, gay rights and the death penalty.
