1. I'm going to try to go to the rally
If I can get out of a conference call at work, I'll be there. I should know this afternoon.

2. Irony...
Does anyone else see the irony in the man who signed NAFTA into law and opened the door for "free trade" head-lining a rally themed Put Michigan Jobs and Our People First?

I agree, the economy isn't the governors fault. A big part is Bill's. Maybe that's what he'll do. Take the blame for our mess and high unemployemnt rate.

3. I see more irony in the fact that
someone who was handed daddy's pyramid schmeme business (that laid off thousands of MI workers while investing $250 million in China) is claiming to have the business sense to bring back the MI economy.

4. I concur
DeVos is a bad dude and an outsourcer. But who has cost Michigan more jobs? DeVos or NAFTA? This is where we Democrats lose credibility. This should not be an either or. People like Bill Clinton and Dick DeVos have product the difficult economic times we are in. Put Governor Granholm in the hole she is so desperately trying to dig us out of. Perot was right about the sucking sound, little did he know in 1992 he was predicting two...one of our jobs to Mexico, they other...well, Bill can tell ya about that one.

5. I believe the point of NAFTA
was not to lower the United States' standards and way of life, but to raise Mexico's. Unfortunately, little was done to ensure this didn't happen. But GM/Ford/etc have been outsourcing their jobs since the 80's. I wouldn't blame the downturn on Clinton. I'd place the blame squarely on the shoulders of big business, stockholders, and the corporations, one of which is Alticor.

To put it short: DeVos and his ilk.
