Tell your female family members to leave their purses at home.
Edited on Fri Dec-07-07 11:37 AM by sarcasmo
Here in West Michigan we have had a rash of purse snatching's and women getting beat up in parking lots. I have told my wife she needs only take her ID and Debit card, no cash when she goes shopping. Our economy is in a downward spiral and violent crimes are on the rise, be careful this holiday season and be Alert.

2. West Michiganders should be more aware
Whenever I visit family in GR or other West Michigan areas, they always tease me for being vigilant about my purse's whereabouts. They tell me I'm paranoid from living in Detroit for so long.

I'm 43 years old and the closest I've ever been to having my purse stolen was when someone stole my wallet out of my backpack in college. That was in Kalamazoo.

A guy tried to mug me once in Detroit. I had 50lbs and 4 inches on him. He raised his hand to punch me, and I told him "If your hand gets any closer to me, you will be picking your remaining teeth off the sidewalk." He went away.

3. More to come no doubt
Desperate times will lead to more desperate acts. Boy are we Michiganders in a bad way or what?
