Labor Day vigil at Bourne Rotary Cape Cod
The First Annual OUT OF IRAQ Labor Day Rotary Blog
on the Bourne Rotary, Cape Cod Mass
Monday SEPT 5th
from 1pm-7pm

DESCRIPTION: After a long fun-filled summer on Cape Cod, tradition finds the locals
bidding farewell to summer residents and tourists, sitting in bumper to bumper traffic
to go back to work and back to school. While waving goodbye, we hold our, ‘Thanks for
Coming’, ‘See You Next Year’signs for all to see. This Labor Day will be the start of a
new tradition. Come join us for an peace vigil on the Bourne rotary. Traffic will be grid-
locked guaranteeing your sign WILL be noticed.

On Labor DayWe will meet at the Peebles Elementary School on Trowbridge Road in
Bourne to walk the 1/4 mile distance to the rotary at 12:pm. Please bring signs, hats,
sunglasses, sunscreen and your camera.
Ice cold water will be provided.

Boston area TV channels always get film footage of the mass-exodus.
We could be famous!

1. Be there or be square.
It looks like the Smedley D. Butler Brigade of the Veterans for Peace will be there also. Can you imagine five miles of backed up traffic seeing this beautiful banner as they leave the Cape?

3. Wanna ride to Bourne with me?
I'm planning on leaving early in the morning, standing/sitting in the rotary all day, and starting home late.

I've got a Mustang loaded with water, so I only have room for one person.

6. A VERY late thought:
We must have signs showing support to or brothers and sisters on the US Gulf Coast. Bring your candles for a dusk vigil.

7. WE had such a great time at the Rotary on Labor Day!
Unhappy has photos! The positive reponses
out numbered the standard "Get a Job"
"Fuck You" and middle finger salute
ten to one!

We were out there for 5 hours! Kept our
people fed and hydrated! Vets for Peace
are a fantabulous organization!

One state trooper stopped to inquire
our intent. He agreed we STILL have
a first ammendment!
