2. It's all garbage and has been for years
It's embarrassing when the the two biggest talk radio hosts in the Boston area - arguably the most liberal city in the U.S. outside of San Francisco - are Howie Carr and Jay Severin, two typically predictable right-wing blowhard turds, virtually unlistenable by anyone except the bleating sheep who agree with every word spewed by these obnoxious jackholes.

It's not just the political talk radio that sucks, but sports radio as well in this area. Two words:

angry assholes.

That's all you need to define both the hosts as well as the poor sorry-asses who call in to rant and rave about whatever the hell they've been programmed to be outraged about.

I don't listen to that shit. Never have, never will. Even vapid top-40 claptrap on Mix 98.5 is more meaningful than hearing some asswipe shilling for his stupid cause on 96.9.

4. Atleast most other stations have consistantly sucked, but WBCN has taken the biggest plunge
that station is un-freakin-listenable.

"Toucher and Rich" and "Hardy" are the shittiest radio shows I've ever heard. I haven't listened to Jay Severin in years but despite having a blood-hatred for him personally I'd rather turn him on than stew through the douche nozzles over at "The Rock of Boston".

5. 95% of the 'jocks' here are terrible, dimwitted morons
who should be lucky manning a tollbooth.

The only ones that actually know anything about music, and upcoming acts are relegated to the graveyard shifts.

6. I haven't listened to WBCN since they signed Howard Stern
I remember the days when WBCN played great music. Charles Laquidara. Maxanne. Peter Wolf. I knew they weere going down hill when they constantly played "Tempted by the Fruit of Another". :puke: That song sucked.

8. Those were the days. Charles has a "Big Mattress" website and
along with the somewhat daily posts drops snipits from the good ole days. Radio mattered back then. Even the talk with Williams(pre Carr and the governors show) and Brudnoy(the first right winger I heard attack the fundies) weren't the crazies on radio now.

7. As a former
resident, I can't believe liberal Boston doesn't have an Air America or some other "progressive" radio community. I agree, go online, download MP3s to your iPod and share. Then lobby your stations, organize green consumer companies and go enmass to change the local lineups. Good luck you guys - Go Pats!

9. We had an Air America station for a while.
Then they decided not to carry it anymore and went back to being a Latino music station. I miss Air America.

10. Michelle McPhee and that new "hip" right winger on WRKO
for got the idiot's name. Jeezus - just when you think it can't get any worse. McPhee call herself a "Democrat" too. She's one of those "Democrats" that never actually supports a Democrat.

12. Jay Severen- The most arrogant man on radio?
Sadly 98% talk radio in Boston is right wing, be it Howie Carr or Jay Severen. Severen really bothers me though, because he is the most pompus ass i think I've ever heard- But I was all grins with delight the way he was shattered when his hero Mittens dropped out...He turned on mccain with a fury, and conceeded defeat by the Democrats.
Jay is bright and articulate, but he's a raging bigot, and a rabid homophobe. I'm not sure if he is playing up the homophobe card to appeal to the right wing twits who are his fans, or if he really has that venom in his heart.

but my guess he's a gelding that can only watch quietly from the sidelines.
