LePage Special Interest Kiss by Butt vs. Let Me Join You Thread
I think we should keep a list of which "special interests" our hypocritical governor has decided to embrace.

1. Kiss my butt: NAACP 01/14/2011
Maine Republican Gov. Paul LePage is keeping up his reputation for blunt language, telling an unhappy NAACP chapter that they can "kiss my butt."

The governor made the comments to CNN affiliate WCSH after being asked about criticism he received from the organization for refusing to attend an event it is sponsoring on behalf of Martin Luther King Day.

2. Let me join you: Hands around Capitol anti-abortion rally 01/15/2011
Governor buoys anti-abortionists
Organizers of an annual anti-abortion rally and march say they are invigorated that Maine has a governor who is publicly opposed to abortion.
...
Gov. Paul LePage joined several hundred people who attended Saturday's event, which included a Mass, a prayer service, a rally and a march before culminating with a human chain around the Capitol building. Many carried "Stop Abortion" signs.

Activists also said Saturday they're as optimistic as ever that, with the new Republican majority in Augusta, legislation chipping away at abortion access in Maine will become law.

3. Let me join you: Corporate polluters
..When it comes to proposed repeal of the Kid Safe Products Law, which sets up a process for identifying and finding alternatives for a list of toxic chemicals of concern, environmentalists and even some business owners are skeptical about the origin of the governor's opposition.

"There is no connection--absolutely no connection--that can be made between this proposal to repeal the bisphenol A rule, which passed unanimously based on the science, and jobs in Maine," Prindiville says. "There's definitely an agenda from out-of-state chemical corporations that are opposed to Maine protecting their people from toxic chemicals, but that's not what this red tape audit process was supposed to be about."
