I got a phone call from a Fallon volunteer last night
and what a nice guy - I wish I would have taken his name so I could post it here today.

When he started talking about the primary I told him that my husband and I had endorsed Chet Culver early on and he said, "Oh, so your kind of stuck now." and he said it in a funny way and we both laughed. I told him not to worry that we liked Fallon and would be working for him if he wins the primary. He said he felt that Fallon was the only one who could defeat Nussle in the general and I told him we felt the same about Culver. Then he said, "At least he's a Democrat."

We wished each other luck and thanked each other for our time.

If Fallon volunteers are that nice to everyone they call he's going to get some undecideds just because of the enjoyable calls.

Way to go Ed!!!

(But I'm still voting for Chet!!! :7)

1. Ed himself is that nice.
I sure hope after the primary, on June 7, that all the candidates closse ranks behind the winner and immediately start working to assure that their supporters close ranks also. We need to unify fast and work hard to beat the huge Nussle warchest.

2. I agree with you
It will be VERY tough to support Blouin is his negative ads and pure lying bullshit end up tanking Culver (and Fallon can't pull ahead of Blouin). But any of the Democrats in the race will be better than Nussle. (Plus, if we elect Sal we'll each get $2,000 a year - I haven't figured out how yet - anyone know? :P)

4. Sal's $2,000
He wants to raise the per capita income for the state. At last census, we were 32nd. That was roughly $2,000 behind the US average.

According to Sal, we have the highest work ethics in the nation and should have a per capita income level which shows it.

In order to achieve this goal, he proposes putting in place a scientific sytem -- Iowa Income Advancement Management Systems (IIAMS).

Mohamed is the only candidate who has spoken of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time bound) objectives for Iowa.

So... there's the story behind the $2K per Iowan.

5. Yeah, that's it...thanks!
I really wish he had a website so I could see some of his ideas on how IIAMS would raise the per capita income.

Thank you!

12. Yes
I'm trying to take the two existing sites and merge them into one more functional one.

But... shhhhhh... it won't be shown to the Central Committee until our next meeting. (The eboard hasn't even seen it in action yet.)

3. One called us last evening.
Edited on Fri May-19-06 02:06 AM by Hardrada
A young woman who was disappointed we would not write a LTTE for Mr. Fallon. I said my wife was Dem county secretary and preferred to be neutral. I said I put a Fallon side in our front yard but that was just for me since I am always for the underdog. Some of the state legislators we know indicate that Fallon was not an effective person in the legislature, in their view. Re: Culver. Nice Yepsen piece on him in the DMR. I guess Chet was clever enough to go and pay his respects to Mr. Know-it-All Political Genius of the Register!!
