Death threats made to gay Iowa legislator
DES MOINES --- An openly gay member of the Iowa Legislature confirmed Monday he has been the target of a death threat, but declined to talk about details.

Sen. Matt McCoy, D-Des Moines, was seen emerging from a meeting with law enforcement officials at the Capitol late Monday afternoon.

Thats all I can say, Ive been threatened, McCoy said when asked what the meeting was about. He confirmed it was a death threat.

The alleged incident follows an Iowa Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage in Iowa.

I guess the wages of bigotry is death threats. This is disgusting enough but the first comment at the link is some dumbass keyboard Kommando saying that because he's a Democrat, he's lying. :puke:

1. Can hardly say I am surprised.
I wonder if there is a level of death threat among the believers, such as a blue, green, yellow orange and red level?
I have also been graced with a couple 'you shouldn't be alive'. Those were the blue variety. Delivered as though it were part of the play.
I am betting McCoy's threats were in the yellow variety. Not meant to be carried out, but delivered in a mean menacing manner.
Fear, it is the RW Ace-in-the-hole.

2. We might be nice people in Iowa but we have our share of bad ones.
I have met people like this - lots of hyperbole and theater. Nothing more. At least that what I'm hoping for.

For McCoy's sake, lets hope it's only hot air.
