1. Check out the details of that poll - the Independent vote is AWESOME!
QUESTION: If the election for President were held today, would you vote for the Democratic ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden, the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin, or another candidate?

ALL 55% 39% 3% 3%

MEN 49% 45% 4% 2%
WOMEN 61% 33% 2% 4%

DEMOCRATS 87% 6% 2% 5%
REPUBLICANS 15% 80% 2% 3%
INDEPENDENTS 58% 36% 5% 1%

And of course I love the VP comparisons :P

2. McCain is polling as well as that no name running for Senate against Harkin
Harkin is leading Chris Reed 56% to 39%, basically the same numbers Obama is beating McCain.

3. If the poll rings true will that be the highest margin of victory to date for Harkin?

4. Our candidate for state house dropped out early, but her name is
still on the ballot. So the repug in our district is running unopposed in actuality. I was musing the other day how funny it would be if he lost because of all the straight ticket votes. Lose while running unopposed.
