1. That's disappointing.
Why didn't he just stay out of it?

2. I agree
Out of it is exactly where he belongs.

Let's hope Culver is smarter than this!

12. seems to be courting the moderates
There is no debate that "The Bos" is a conservative democrat and seems to side with the Pubs more than I like to see. Harkin does not have easy sledding to re-election, he never really does, but I think this step to gain moderate to conservative dems has alienated too many liberal dems.
I'm still behind Harkin 100% but I think he could have at least waited a while.

3. No real surprise
One establishment guy sticking up for another establishment guy. Happens all the time. It may not be right, but it happens all the time.

5. Agreed.
Wonder if Boswell made a request or if Harkin volunteered.

7. Heard anything about district 4?
I Don't know much about that primary but the fourth district seems pretty much in the bag for William Meyers, has he gotten anyones endorsement yet? I hope so, I hope he can upset Tom Latham!

8. A couple candidates are running in district 4
http://commoniowan.blogspot.com/2008/01/democratic-candidate-in-4th-district.html

I heard of a candidate that will probably be running. His name is Kurt Meyer and I was told that he is a solid candidate.

Meyer lives in Mitchell County and is a graduate of Luther College. He worked on Mike Blouin's campaign in 1976 and was finance chair of John Culver's Senate campaign in 1980. He then started a political consulting firm based in Minneapolis and has done fundraising.

Another declared candidate is William Meyers. I don't know much about Meyers except that he is a Marine Corps Veteran from Humboldt.

10. Good for Fallon!
Damn this is good news.. I'm getting real tired of Boswell supporting this adminstration. We need a progressive democratic party member instead of the blue dog we now have..
