Why is Sarah Palin campaigning in Indiana? Because there is no other choice.
Monday, October 20, 2008

Democrats are a alive and well and walking and talking on the telephone in Indiana. It's a new phenomenon, but it's most definitely a good one. I think many of us who have lived in this state for a long, long while, are genuinely surprised that there are so many others. Many of have kept or political persuasions to ourselves all along. It's like 'coming out of the closet'. It really is.

Salon has an article about the spectacular rise of the Democratic grassroots during this election cycle. I believe that this rise can be attributed to an outstanding candidate running a smart campaign, principled in what he learned as a community organizer. He's organized Democrats.

I also give credit to Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, who first ignited young voters, innovating Internet fundraising during the 2004 primaries, as well as his '50-State' campaign strategy for this election cycle. They have gone into the red states. They actually listened to me.

In a previous post a while back, I shared a 'Letter to the Editor' written by one of our local supporters in Valparaiso, who addressed Republican State Party Chairman Murray Clark's comment that the Obama offices that were springing up in Indiana were simply 'bogus storefront offices'.

It seems that Clark has since changed his tune just a wee bit.

...if Obama wins the state, more than anything it will be due to the best voter-contact operation Indiana has ever seen. Even Murray Clark, the Indiana Republican chairman, says with grudging admiration in his voice, "Obama's done these things right. That's how he nearly beat Hillary in the primary." for source - click here

In my community, our Obama office has many folks from different walks of life and income levels phone banking and canvassing for Obama, from the not so affluent, to the much more affluent.

Here is why Sarah Palin was in affluent Hamilton County.
