1. Congrats hippiechick!!
Welcome to homeownership. :toast:

We've been in our home for 8 months now and we love it. Just love it!

Hope you feel the same way 8 months from now.

2. Thankx ~ hopefully 8 months from now ...
... groceries won't be a luxury! :) I've had my eye on this house since November, and finally was able to make an offer on Monday. 3 other offers had already been rejected, so something in the stars must want me to live there.

4. Go plant something in your yard...
getting dirt under your nails and seeing something grow in YOUR yard makes it worthwhile. A plant that comes up year after year, and grows and matures in YOUR yard.
Congratulations on many years of happiness in your new home!

5. Congrats...
We had our home built about three years ago. This is our first "new" home. Nothing like the feeling of owning your own home.

6. Congratulations.
I bought my home almost 11 years ago. It's almost always beter than renting. Especially the equity.

9. Icksnay on the ousehay!
It sorta failed inspection. Pervasive mold in the basement, major cracks and sinking of the foundation, water stains inside the closet indicating a crack or leak in the chinmey, and amateur/hazardous electrical.

Back to square one. Sigh. :(

Sorry to hear that!

Well, on the other hand, better to find out now before buying a money pit I guess.

Good luck on your continued search.

11. Hi, Hippiechick
Edited on Thu Jun-01-06 07:56 AM by LisaLynne
I just got back from vacation, so I missed the house drama. I'm sorry it fell through, but you know, better that you found out before hand with an inspection. You'll find another one, I'm sure. I know looking for a house can be a PAIN and sometimes, you just want it OVER, but hang in there! It will be worth it when you find a wonderful house that you love and is devoid of major problems. :)

12. Oh well it's for the best.
My wife and I absolutely love our house. Built in 1870 it has been a huge financial drain keeping the damn thing maintained. None of the problems you mention, however oodles and canoodles of small things.

Patience will be your friend. But so are housing inspectors.
