Full-scale reenactment of Haymarket Riot April 30 in Chicago

We may volunteer--but I'm not sure I want to be a policeman assaulting labor activists! I'm certainly going to attend, though. Right in my neighborhood:

This May will mark the 125th Anniversary of the Haymarket Riot which took place near the corner of Randolph and Desplaines in the Fulton River District. To (commemorate/mark/remember) this occasion, Paul Durica of the 'Pocket Guide to Hell' is planning a full scale reenactment of the event at the original site. The FRDA has teamed up with Paul, The Haymarket Brewery, Illinois Labor History Society, Drinking & Writing Theater, Cultural Affairs, Alderman Reilly's Office and Alderman Burnett Jr.'s Office to help make this possible. Details and participants are still being worked out, including involvement of local historians and a historian from the Chicago Police. Currently the event is scheduled to take place on Saturday April 30th at the Randolph & Desplaines site from 2pm-4pm, with the actual reenactment to occur at 3pm. It is also anticipated that activities will take place prior to and following the reenactment at the Haymarket Brewery on the corner of Randolph and Halsted. Currently we are looking for people from the Fulton River/West Loop area that are interested in being involved in the actual event. We will need up to 175 volunteers to serve as Police Officers! Volunteers will receive a hat, badge and coat and a special gift from the Brewery. There is no cost.
