Quinn or Hynes?
Alexi Giannoulias or Cheryle Jackson?

Who do you support for Gov and Senate?

1. Quinn FOR SURE. The change to support an honest politician doesn't come around that often.

2. i think
quinn and jackson.
hynes, well, i think the dynasty has been around long enough. jackson, yes, i know what i said in the last sentence. but i really like jjj, and from what i know cheryle has been a good alderman. alexi is ok, a fine fellow, but not that charismatic of a candidate. i am worried about how jackson will do state wide, but if she wins the primary, she wins. i think alexi would carry a lot of the same baggage, regardless of his skin pigmentation. the bigots will know that he is barack's' buddy. so, i think either way, we either have enough dems to win statewide, or we don't.

interesting times, to be sure. anxious to hear what others have to say.

3. She's not an Alderdman
She's President of the Urban League. You are thinking of Sandi Jackson, Jesse Jackson Jr's wife.

Cheryle is as far as I know not related to the Rev. Jackson's family.

4. my so very bad.
hmm. wonder if that is going to help or hurt. i googled to make sure i was talking about the same jackson, but didn't look to far into the hits. most contained the word alderman, so i assumed i was correct.

at any rate, my committeeman here seemed to think she was a good candidate.

5. Quinn and neither.
I like Quinn a lot. He is having to fight a lot of battles essentially alone. He's a good man.

As for Senator, don't like either, will just pull the lever for the D when the time comes. I don't see how Giannoulias doesn't win though.

8. Quinn and Giannoulias.
I think Quinn is doing as well as can be done, under the circumstances. I feel like his heart is in the right place.

I have friends who know Giannoulias personally and think the world of him. He seems like a good guy from his public acts, as well.

9. Quinn and Giannoulias
Another candidate threw his hat in the ring for Governor, but he is related to my asshole of a former boss - that alone disqualifies him.... Not saying his name but I am sure you can google information about his impulsive and failing campaign. Like father like...

10. no sign of jackson. david hoffman for senate.
i think my local party organization will likely support david hoffman, former prosecutor and former chicago inspector general, for senate. squeaky clean fellow, but needs a little polishing as a candidate. he is a lawyer to the bone, methinks. needs to figure out how to be a senator.

14. i think he gave it up early on. we got a real bad problem here, imho
senator mark kirk, try on your crown and scepter. david hoffman is fine man, and very clean, but he is as appealing as canned beans. another white guy with a gold plated law degree. whoopdedoo. yes, he spent the last 16 years in prosecutor-type offices. people aren't all that drawn to that, either.
then we have a choice between dan hynes and alexi gialnoulias-family money and family connections. another whoop.

the only hope we have is that kirk takes a lot of flack from the right. his personal hypocrisy might get him into trouble. but unless someone blows up his media cover, his mavericky, clean-cut, phony image, hello senator.

16. Quinn: why not support an honest man
If everybody who's for him will vote for him instead of worrying about who's winning (horse race journalism is b.s!) he'll win, by golly.!

17. Kirk may make it out of the primary
but like Judy Baar-Topinka, he'll be cannibalized by the base. Quinn is the better choice for us. I've not decided which candidate for the senate but no matter who it is, get ready to fight hard and respond quickly.

19. I voted for Quinn and Giannoulias yesterday.
I truly believe that Gov. Quinn is trying to do the right thing for us in the State of Illinois, but Mike Madigan can't stand him and blocks everything he's been trying to do. Giannoulias seems like a good guy also, but with Blago's trial starting in September, it's going to be an uphilll battle for both of them to win.

As for Dan Hynes, I don't like that ad he's running about Quinn and Harold Washington. It's mean spirited and quite frankly unneccesary. I also think Hynes is too much in the pocket of Mike Madigan who is a complete a**hole.

Like I said earlier with Blago's trial starting in September, I really think both the Gov and Senate seats the Dems can kiss goodbye this time around. The coverage of that trial is gonna be absolutely brutal and it will rub off on most of the Dem candidates in the State of Illinois.

Just my .02 cents.

Hynes has really gotten on my nerves dredging out that ancient video of Harold Washington.

24. Late switch to Hynes.

I think Quinn is getting screwed in all of this. But Hynes favors pretty much the same agenda, would stand an infinitely better chance at getting that agenda through Springfield (where Quinn is an ignored do-gooder), has a better chance of winning the general, and makes no bones about favoring full marriage equality.

If they both want the same thing (with Hynes wanting better on that last issue), then lets elect the one who might actually get those things done.
